Julius Swimming Sports

The Julius boys put a lot of effort into the Swimming sports. It was great to see Gus Morrow finish Overall 2nd in the Junior Championships. It was also fantastic to see Gus Morrow, Josh Erasmus, Charles Lord and Harry Greenwood win both the medley and the sprint relay. This was backed up by the junior team of Kynan Salt, Zach May, Thomas McClean, and Zach Gimblett. Well done lads!

Year 9 and 13 Orientation

On the Thursday before school started the Julius Year 9s and Year 13s got together for a day of activities. The day began with the lads playing Touch football at school. The boys then went 10 pin bowling where the Year 13s and Year 9s teamed up together in competition. Jamie Hutton and Hugh Fraser proved to be the guns of the House. Lunch was held at Mr Vink’s House before all of the boys headed to Jellie Park and hydro-sliding for the day. Thanks to Mr Vink, Ms Bleyendaal and Mr Cooper for giving up their time.

Fraser Duggan’s Spirit of New Zealand

Swing past the bow of a boat and skidding across the water; paddling a raft like a rowing team to victory in the raft race; performing a comedy skit in the usual College house play style; and covering the headsail while hanging over the water in a harness. These are just a few of the experiences I enjoyed on the Spirt of NZ.

I am Fraser Duggan and I was part of the Christ’s college team that went on the 5 days Spirit of NZ challenge in Auckland last year. Schools from around the country send teams of ten Year 10 students to compete against three other schools for the Spirit trophy.

It was great fun. You should give it a go if you get the chance.
